Bablu Hait, Director of Ritu Hospitality Services Pvt. Ltd. was very busy in the locked-down period when many people are finding ample idle time. He has also been provided by the Govt. with permit to move as a part of Emergency Services. 500 of his employees were engaged in cleaning and sanitation work of COVID patients in four hospitals of Kolkata.
“Workers were frightened and a sense of insecurity prevailed among them. I was in a fix as many of them were thinking of leaving the job. I started counselling them,” Mr. Hait said, “trust me because most of them are working with me for the last ten years.”
These employees were enthusiastically trained by the Doctors and Nurses for dealing with cleaning and sanitation regarding COVID patients. They were giving round-the-clock services to these patients without any extra remuneration. Proudly, Mr. Hait asserts, “I feel we are working for the nation, we are working for humanity”.
